Sarah Karp Ward's path to marketing was not traditional. As a child in Northern Connecticut, she fantasized about becoming a fashion designer. She moved to Brooklyn, NY in 2002 to study fashion and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006. After working in the industry for three years, she realized that fashion design was not her passion, but social media was.
In 2009, Sarah began writing for multiple digital publications in Montreal, London and Miami through people she had met on Twitter. She took a personal and professional risk in 2010 when she moved up to Montreal for a new adventure. While there, she had her first taste of consulting when she took on multiple social and digital marketing, copywriting and design contracts.
An offer of a lifetime came in 2011 when Sarah was asked to re-strategize Playboy's digital, TV and radio social media accounts. Hiring a team to work on her, she oversaw all of their products' social strategy.
Missing her home city of New York, Sarah moved back in 2012 for an exciting role to manage all of MTV News' editorial and TV social accounts. There she developed department-wide social media guidelines and strategies for internal talent, in-office performances, and off-site events.
In 2014, Sarah was approached by a new startup called Three Lions Entertainment to be their Lead Social Media Strategist. Her first task was to strategize, launch and oversee all digital and social media for the Fashion Rocks television special that aired live on CBS during New York Fashion Week.
After the airing of that show, she accepted a position at Horizon Media overseeing social strategy for Weight Watchers. Realizing a large media agency wasn't her ideal work environment, she left to explore new and more entrepreneurial opportunities.
Currently, Sarah runs her own agency, Lucky Karp. She is a consultant at Dozen Digital for Elite Body Sculpture at present. She has consulted and held contracts with LG, Mercato, Nestio, RealClearLife, Artisan Council, Rebel Interactive Group, Thesis Couture, and Base NJ.
Sarah is available for new professional social, digital and influencer marketing roles. She lives in Jersey City with her husband, Parvez, and their rude Pomeranian, Lucky.
